quote:  " Facebook and Instagram giant Meta on April 5, 2024, said it will begin labeling AI-generated content beginning in May 2024, as it tries to reassure users and governments over the risks of deepfakes." end of quote.

And from:

April 5, 2024

By Monika Bickert, META Vice President of Content Policy

https://about.fb.com/news/2024/04/metas-approach-to-labeling-ai-generated-content-and-manipulated-media/

quote: "We plan to start labeling AI-generated content in May 2024, and we’ll stop removing content solely on the basis of our manipulated video policy in July. This timeline gives people time to understand the self-disclosure process before we stop removing the smaller subset of manipulated media." end of quote

previously, many media web pages shared the news, but none had the date for theproject's  launch:

So, given the date, Its possible that the project do get launched in May.

Meta's new policy is about audio, video and images. This question is about text written by AI, so I don't think these news would cause this question to resolve positively.
